paths & practices

This is one of the first questions that most newcomers to witchcraft want to answer for themselves. It is also the first question that you will be asked when you disclose to anyone that you are a witch. Perhaps you already know what calls to you. Maybe you come from a family background that gave you insight into the practice of witchcraft. Or it could be that you have no idea at this point what path suits you or even if being a witch is something you really want to do. There are so many ways to practice witchcraft. These are only a few and not meant to be an exhaustive list. Different types of witchcraft often intersect. One sort of practice can be complementary to others or you may choose to explore paths at different times. Whatever  you choose, the paths are rarely linear. When you choose witchcraft, you choose a journey that is yours to shape. The answer to the question of what sort of witch you are may not ever be a definitive one. It is more likely to be quite malleable and multifaceted as you progress, growing along with you as you find your own way.

Do you come from a family of witches, shamans, or folk healers?

Do you incorporate religious beliefs into your practice?

Are you a follower of a formal practice such a Wicca?
